If Roe Falls,
How Should Progressive Catholics Respond?

Even in progressive Catholic circles, conversation about abortion often remains silenced.
But with the Supreme Court poised overturn Roe vs. Wade, Catholics will need to start talking about it.

The silence around abortion is remarkable, since, according to a 2020 Pew study, 68% of U.S. Catholics do not want to see Roe struck down and 56% believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases. The reticence of Catholics to speak about abortion is evidence of the heavy stigma that the Catholic hierarchy, particularly U.S. bishops, have placed on the issue.

Through these offerings, the members of Catholic Organizations for Renewal (COR) seek to change that dynamic.
