Kenyetta Chinwe introduces the reproductive justice framework; Dr. Jennifer Villavicencio, M.D. shares her journey from being an anti-choice activist to becoming a doctor who provides abortion care; Dr. Diana Greene Foster, Ph.D. discusses the findings of her book The Turnaway Study, which examines the economic and social consequences of being denied a wanted abortion; and Katherine Stewart, author of The Power Worshippers, will explores white-supremacist roots of the modern anti-abortion movement.

BreadNotStones: Catholic Renewal Groups Oppose Weaponization of Holy Communion

Seven lay-led Catholic renewal groups, opposed to the weaponization of Holy Communion by a faction of the United States Conference for Catholic Bishops, host a video conference for the media in advance of the USCCB’s upcoming June meeting. Speakers focus on numerous occasions when Catholic people—especially women and LGBTQI people—have asked the bishops for bread, only to be given stones (Matthew 7:9).
